Details

The Morpho Adonis Major is very similar to the Morpho Didius. Both are monstrous in size; both are highly reflective; both are iridescent. Every specimen varies somewhat in color so some specimens are very difficult to distinguish from the Didius unless you look at the very different underside of these butterflies. However- most of them are much lighter in color than the Didius and carry a more aqua blue hue in contrast to the darker hue of the Didius. All of the Morpho species are available in natural finish only – the glossy treatment destroys the iridescence.
